BLK Launches ‘Break The Bank’ Contest To Tackle Inflation and Stimulate IRL Dating Again
We get it!... It ain’t easy being Black and single, especially in times like these when the price of everything from rent to gas to groceries is just too damn high!
You may remember a recent in-app survey where we asked you a few questions about ‘The Price of Dating.” Over 20,000 of you responded, and we learned that 69% of Black singles' dating and social lives are being negatively impacted by inflation, and 66% of us are choosing not to go out on dates altogether to save money. 👀
We knew we had to do something about this because we can’t let the dollar stop our dating. Right!? That’s why we’re excited to announce our ‘Break The Bank’ contest, where BLK users can submit videos detailing their ideal first date for a chance to win one of 40 gift cards in the amount of $250 to help fund their next date. Yup, you read that right… we’re giving away 10 stacks 💵 to get you back out there on the dating scene!
Entering the contest is easy. First, you’ll need to follow us on Instagram. Then DM us a video of no more than 30 seconds telling us how you would use the money to curate the perfect date experience and support Black businesses. Be sure to include the phone number associated with your BLK account so that we can verify that you are an active BLK user.
Videos will be judged on creativity, how well your video follows the theme, and how you personify BLK values. If your video is chosen as one of our 40 winners, we will respond to your DM with the next steps on how to secure the bag! (or gift card in this case) 🙃
