We sat down with the happily married couple - Moneá and X'zavieyan as they told us how their love story began on the BLK dating app.. Oh word??? Sin City! That's the last place I'd think to find long-term love. Guess I was wrong. Tell us about your first date.
MONEÁ:
On our first date we went hiking in the mountains. This was a good start for both of us because it showed our adventurous side. After a couple hours of good conversation, laughs, and very good eye contact we ended our night just chillin in the car listening to 90’s R&B. We felt the “spark” when we first hugged, everything felt so right and meant to be.

What made you feel that connection? What type of things do you both have in common?
MONEÁ:
Before we actually met in person the phone calls, late night talks, and the way we communicated with each other, we both felt deeply connected right away. We are alike in ways of our sense of humor, athleticism, and interests in health and spirituality. We are also very different in ways that push each other's limits and provide different perspectives on things, but always in a positive way.
THE PLUG:
What made you both decide to join BLK? Why did you think BLK would be better or different than other dating apps?
MONEÁ:
For me personally I was just being nosey, I never thought in a million years I would've actually connected with someone like this. What I did like about BLK was the specific variety of options, finding a strong, black man that shares similar viewpoints as you can definitely be tough at times and this app allowed me to narrow it down.
X'ZAVIEYAN
For me, it's a similar story. I was bored and trying to keep my options open in hopes to possibly get that right swipe from a beautiful black queen that had caught my eye. After almost a year of being on the app, my prayers were finally answered.

MONEÁ:
