NiShelle's Story:
How I got on BLK, I was scrolling through and watching my friends’ Snapchat stories, and every time an ad came up, it was for BLK. After the 6th or 7th time in a row of it popping up on my screen, I decided to download the app and see what it was all about! After creating my profile, one of my first matches, within 10 mins, was Desmond! His profile was sort of mysterious, he was really cute, and his bio said, “I’m with the funnies.” Me, loving to laugh, in my head, I was like, “Okay, Mr. Desmond, make me laugh!” When we matched, it was the beginning of COVID, so everything was shutting down, and everyone was confused, but after about 3 weeks, after quarantining and making sure we were healthy, we decided to meet. And from there, it’s history! He’s one of the kindest souls I’ve ever met, AND he makes me laugh! We can be so goofy together and just have so much fun! We’re able to just be ourselves and talk through things in a way I haven’t been able to in the past. We’ve been together for 2 years and some changes, moved out to LA together and couldn’t be happier that we’re building a life together! I am truly blessed I took a chance and downloaded BLK.
Desmond's Story:
I was on the BLK app for a while, and the women I matched with were cool, but none of the connections I tried to build lasted long. Everyone was nice, but I couldn’t quite find what I was looking for. Fast forward a few months, and when I was about to delete the app, I matched with NiShelle. She was so gorgeous I couldn’t stop looking at her profile. She seemed very down-to-earth, adventurous, and funny, and I was surprised but glad when she super-liked me back! From then, we would talk and text, just getting to know each other, and I knew I wanted her around for a while, so after a few months, I cuffed her. I ended up being able to show a different side of myself. She makes me comfortable. And you know, after a year, we ended up moving in together, and it’s been great ever since. It’s crazy to think that it’s already been two years!
