BLK x CONGRESSIONAL BLACK CAUCUS

Updated: Jun 12, 2023

BLK, the premier Black dating app in the United States, was thrilled to partner with The Congressional Black Caucus for its inaugural Congressional Black Caucus Annual Legislative Reception. This collaborative moment was to debut BLK's latest voter advocacy initiatives and meet BLK & Match Group executives.

Since its establishment in 1971, the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) has been committed to using the federal government's full Constitutional power, statutory authority, and financial resources to ensure that African Americans and other marginalized communities in the United States have the opportunity to achieve the American Dream. The Caucus is Chaired by Congresswoman Joyce Beatty. As part of this commitment, the CBC has fought for the past 48 years to empower these citizens and address their legislative concerns by pursuing a policy agenda that includes but is not limited to the following:

  • reforming the criminal justice system and eliminating barriers to reentry;

  • combatting voter suppression;

  • expanding access to world-class education from pre-k through the post-secondary level;

  • expanding access to quality, affordable health care and eliminating racial health disparities;

  • expanding access to 21st-century technologies, including broadband;

  • strengthening protections for workers and expanding access to full, fairly-compensated employment;

  • expanding access to capital, contracts, and counseling for minority-owned businesses; and

  • promoting U.S. foreign policy initiatives in Africa and other countries that are consistent with the fundamental right of human dignity

🗳EARLY VOTING🗳

We have partnered with When We All Vote during this current election cycle to encourage our community to register to vote, get out early, and cast your ballots

There are many reasons why you should PLAN to vote early. Here are three!

  1. Life happens. School, work, flat tires, bad weather, doctor’s appointments, and more are why you may not be able to cast your ballot on November 8th. Making a plan to vote early helps ensure that when life happens, you can still make your voice heard in our elections.

  2. In some states, it’s harder to vote. We can’t ignore that voter suppression is happening across the country, whether it’s closing polling locations, removing drop boxes, or long lines. So let’s make sure we show up and show our power early.

  3. Our elections are too important to risk not being able to make your voice heard. So make your plan to vote early and encourage your friends, family, and neighbors to do the same.

Take Action to ensure your vote is cast ON or BEFORE November 8th:

  • Check Your Voter Registration Status: Be sure to check your voter registration one last time using this portal: weall.vote/blk

  • Make Sure You Have A Plan To Vote! Build your voting squad by texting three friends and asking them to make their plan to vote with you. Check your state's rules about Early Voting, and go vote before November 8th! Use weall.vote/voterhub to solidify your plan!
